ugvm Podcast Episode 10

Posted on 25/05/2018 Written by deKay Leave a Comment

In the future, you’ll reminisce about where you were and what you were doing on the day the great ugvm podcast episode 10 came out. Well, you might. Trauma does things to your head, mang.

In this historically accurate episode, deKay plays a game aimed at eight year olds, Choobs plays a number of seemingly identical games, Luffer plays virtually no games at all, and Zo plays a God of War game which both isn’t God of War but is God of War. Confused? We were never confused.

We chat about the Battlefield V: There’s A Woman In It trailer, everyone’s favourite vapourware the ZX Vega+ (again, sorry), the new dockless Switch, Biohazard/Resident Evil 7 coming to the Switch sort of, Rainway, the mystery of the missing PS4 Pros, the NES Classic (and new Famicom Classic), and all these games:

  • Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate Kiss Kiss
  • No Man’s Sky
  • Star Trek: Bridge Crew
  • Fairune Collection
  • Yakuza 5
  • Detective Pikachu
  • God of War
  • Batman: The Enemy Within
  • Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
  • WipEout VR
  • Frostpunk
  • Judgement: Apocalypse Survival Simulator
  • Yorkshire Gubbins
  • Xenoblade Chronicles 2
  • Fire Emblem Warriors
  • Hyrule Warriors
  • Mafiascum
  • EuroTruck Simulator VR

And some listener questions, stuff about E3, and general waffle. Mmm, waffles.

ugvm Podcast Episode 9

Posted on 27/04/2018 Written by deKay Leave a Comment

Hey kids! Have you got two whole hours of your life you don’t want back? Or a two hour bus journey next to an old lady telling you about her piles and you need to drown her out? Well have we got a podcast for you.

In this episode, deKay uses his imagination and fights a bear, Zo has played all of the games, some of which while stripped to the waist, Kendrick instructs everyone to say “David Cage” in an East London accent, and Neil rams some angry Australians with silly names off the road. Pretty standard stuff, really.

We chat about Sega’s recent Shenmue and Mega Drive Mini announcements, the new Atari VCS and NeoGeo machines, loot boxes, and how the Switch has been hacked. And yes, the ZX Vega+ again even though that news is out of date already. Plus all these games:

  • Forza Motorsport 7
  • That Dragon, Cancer
  • The Unfinished Swan
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider
  • Life is Strange: Farewell
  • Lego Dimensions
  • Batman: The Telltale Series
  • God of War 7: God Harder
  • Mad Max
  • Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp
  • Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
  • Rogue Aces
  • Yakuza 5
  • Yakuza 6

And! More! Listener questions and stuff. Amazing.

ugvm Podcast Episode 8

Posted on 27/03/2018 Written by deKay Leave a Comment

Welcome friends, to Episode 8 of the world’s greatest sort of monthly-ish video game podcast with “ugvm” in the title. Well, OK. Top three.

In this episode, deKay has a lost weekend, Tim is obsessed with the worst Bullfrog game ever, Luffer is the Goddamn Batman, and Choobs has a yacht. Because of course he has. Also: Cake Winslet.

We talk about and/or discuss Game Maker 2 supporting the Switch, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on your telephone, the massive expense of the Vive Pro, changes to the UK video game charts, and all these games:

  • Elite Dangerous
  • Vostok Inc
  • Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China
  • Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation
  • Dragon Quest Builders
  • Batman: The Telltale Series
  • Batman: The Enemy Within
  • Stage 9
  • Monster Hunter World
  • Populous: The Beginning
  • Crackdown

And we answer some listener questions. What more could you possibly want?

ugvm Podcast Episode 7

Posted on 23/02/2018 Written by deKay Leave a Comment

It’s episode 7! That’s seven whole episodes. Seven. Seven.

This episode, deKay bores everyone about Yokai, Kendrick literally breaks, Zo fails to explain why Burnout 3 is the best Burnout (probably because it isn’t), and Luffer gets very tired standing up.

There’s important chat about internet connected tractors, that stuff you put on your fingernails which is supposed to stop you biting them and what is actually classed as a kitten. Also, less important chat about actual video games, the ZX Vega+ once again, Luigi’s Super Balloon Happy Fun Time, and all these games:

  • Shining Resonance
  • Burnout Paradise
  • Fallout 4 VR
  • Disc Drivin’ 2
  • Orwell
  • PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds
  • Football Manager 2018
  • Forza Horizon 3 Blizzard Mountain
  • Assassin’s Creed Origins
  • Persona 5
  • RPG Maker FES
  • Yakuza Kiwami
  • Yakuza 5
  • Enter the Gungeon
  • Yōdanji
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • Wolfenstein: The New Order
  • Wolfenstein: The Old Blood

Plus the usual listener questions and deviation from the script.

ugvm Podcast Episode 6

Posted on 19/01/2018 Written by deKay Leave a Comment

Well would you look at that – we all made it to 2018 after all. Mostly intact too!

This episode, deKay is baffled that others don’t share his Hyrule Warriors love, Kendrick mourns what could have been in TxK, and Zo can’t make up his mind about, well, anything he’s played really.

We also chat about the recent Nintendo Direct Mini and the Nintendo Labo reveal, Retro-Bit’s new controller deal with Sega, the upcoming Fist of the North Star game, the Xbox Elite controller, and what battles would make a good Warriors game. And all these!

  • What Remains of Edith Finch
  • Fire Emblem Warriors
  • Undertale
  • Assassin’s Creed Origins
  • Wolfenstein 2
  • TxK
  • Bloodborne: The Old Hunters

Then we answer a veritable plethora (that is, more than two) of listener questions. Some of which are actually quite interesting. Most aren’t.
