Toki Tori 2 (Wii U): COMPLETED!

Posted on 06/08/2013 Written by deKay

tokitori2completeAw! Lookit all the pweety birdies! I saved them all!

After getting stuck on just about every puzzle in the game, but managing to solve them all just before Miiverse stepped in to help, I finally reached the final special frog and “captured” it, sending it to the room with the giant evil heart, and the game was won!

Now, I expect there’s something to be gained by collecting all the little symbol things strewn across the map, dumping them into some device I found, and I’m still short some photos, but for now I’m done with the game. It was great, but I’m not sure I want to bother with the post-credits clean up. Especially with too many other games to do!

Toki Tori 2 (Wii U)

Posted on 04/08/2013 Written by deKay

tokitori2This image shows just one of $hlmun places where I got stuck. So stuck I thought I’d have to give up. So I posted on Miiverse, and before I got a reply, I figured it out myself.

Exactly like I did with every other puzzle where I got stuck.

I’ve just realised this is the first time I’ve mentioned this game here. Not really surprising, as I bought it as soon as it came out, and hated it. It was too fiddly, the map was impossible to understand, and the puzzles were – even near the start – frustrating. I played for about an hour, and gave up.

Then I dug it out again a few days ago, and persevered with it. Eventually, the map made sense. I discovered ways of making creatures do things. I eventually figured out that our sparky chums in that screenshot could be doused with water to fizz them out. Then the second part of the game kicked in – you reach a giant heart, and are shown areas to find special frogs, which you have to lure into vacuum tubes. So off you go again, warping round (ah! that’s what the monoliths are for!) trying to get the special frogs.

And, somehow, the game is now awesome.

With 4 of the (it appears) 5 frogs caught, I think I’m nearing the end, but I’m really glad I gave Toki Tori 2 another shot.

95: Bother Me Anatomically
byugvm

Unforeseen circumstances, and definitely not Podcast Apathy, resulted in just deKay and Kendrick bringing you this episode, but don’t worry! As a bonus to make up for the cast shortfall, Episode 95 is slightly shorter, so you’ve less to endure! Rejoice.

This time around, your heroes discuss the general meh-ness of recent gaming news, the Switch 2 having no games, a new Lego Batman (and Batman in general), and Ys X Proud Nordics. With, naturally, many deviations and diversions.
