Spacechem: my brain is getting too old

Posted on 02/04/2014 Written by Xexyz

It started off so well.  I followed the tutorial easily, seeing how the reactors were built, how to drop and pick up atoms and molecules.  And then there's a spike in difficulty, where you have to drop off two atoms from the same origin point and bond them.  My solution wasn't entirely elegant.

Reflecting on it later, you could have had the blue doobrie following the red a few spaces behind, moving the atom one more space along, then the red would drop another on the original drop point, move over the first atom and bond, then carry them away before the blue tried to pick up the second.  I know that doesn't make much sense but I may try it.

Anyway, it got even more complicated than that.  Pipelines delivered atoms at different times, multiple reactors were needed, and I kept on getting the C=O molecule the wrong way around, trying to bond the Hs to the O.

Even when I did get it the right way around, I kept colliding molecules inside the reactor.  It took ages for me to work out how to manipulate the molecules correctly.  I'm sure there's a lot of slack time here, but it worked.

My brain hurts just looking at that.

Completed – Army of Two Devil’s Cartel

Posted on 02/04/2014 Written by gospvg

It's a shame that most co-op games on the 360 are shooters, after many years of playing these the genre has now become tiring. We still went ahead & completed this game but I would be lying if I said it was an enjoyable experience.

Just ticking off the various missions until the cartel was destroyed leading to a final showdown with Salem.

Game Over. Done. Finish. Complete & with it possibly the last 360 co-op game.

Football Chairman – Euro Shield

Posted on 31/03/2014 Written by gospvg

Euro Shield (UEFA league) was tough I managed to finished 2nd in the league to get through to the next round but lost that game 2-1.

I did manage to max out the 40K stadium for the game this generating lots of money.

I have spent so much time iOS gaming recently with Football Chairman, Disco Zoo, Pocket Mine, Carcassonne, Lost Cities etc

The iPad mini/iphone are just so easier to pick up and play for those minutes I have free. A season of football chairman takes approx 20 to 30 mins.

I'm regularly finishing in the top 10 now just need the find some high 95+ rated players to challenge for the title.

Football Chairman – FA Cup

Posted on 31/03/2014 Written by gospvg

I've had me best season in the premier league finishing 7th & beating Spurs 2-1 in the FA Cup Final.

This also qualifies me for the Euro League next season. I've upgraded the stadium capacity now to 40K. I tend to set high ticket prices but will go for the average to see if I can max out the attendance.

Earthbound (Wii U)

tumblr_n2uujodry91svmpf2o1_1280Even though I was all over this several months ago, I stopped playing. Not because I was bored with it, but I got stuck. I couldn’t get much further than the pencil bit – the enemies were just too hard, and I died $hlmun times.

But, with Backlog Fighter still in full effect, I returned to it a week or so ago and did that bit on my first go with no difficulty whatsoever. The game was back on. Woo!

The_whonowAcross that area was Paula, who I needed to rescue. We then returned to Twoson where I was given $10,000, which I couldn’t spend on myself, so gave it to popular beat combo Runaway Five so they could be released from their contract and drive to Fourside, dropping me off in Threed on the way. Threed that was full of zombies.

Great._That_ll_come_in_handy.Zombies who caught me, and I had to take control of Jeff instead, who came to the rescue. With three members of my party, I took down the zombie menace (actually, I put some paper on the floor and they all stuck to it). Oh, and killed a sentient circus tent. No, really.

Whatever_it_is__I_don_t_want_it.Now I’m on my way somewhere else, presumably Fourside via a non-direct route, and I’ve ended up in Saturn Valley. This place is populated with strange scrotum people who are all called Mr Saturn. And they speak in a very difficult to read font. And have telephones up ladders. And say Zoom a lot. I’m scared they might do… something… while I sleep.
